ParticipACTION created the ParticipACTION 150 Play List in honour of Canada’s 150th birthday. Canadians are challenged to try as many of the activities on the list as they can to get moving more, sitting less and for chances to win great prizes.   10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Canada 150 Multicultural Celebration Event

The event will take place at the Sudbury Arena, July 1st. The day will begin with a parade which includes the Police Pipe Band, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, First Nations, various dignitaries and people of various nationalities in their traditional costumes. Festivities begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Sudbury Arena with a Parade, Opening Ceremonies and food booth from around the world and browse through the crafts at the Multicultural Food and Craft Fair. Centre stage, entertainment will perform songs and dance all afternoon.

The Market has three activities planned for Canada Day. Starting at 11 a.m., Scott Mitchell will perform some of your favourite Canadian hits. At noon, Artists on Elgin will be announcing the winners of their Capture Sudbury postcard photo competition, and they will be on-hand all day selling the chosen designs. And at 1 p.m. Ojibwe b-boy Curtis Kagige, B-boy Red Sky, will perform a break dancing demo and workshop. Also, thanks to the generosity of many vendors Old Soul Soap Company will be raffling off a fabulous Canada 150 Market gift basket!

Everyone is welcome! We will have pizza, hot dogs, bouncables, Gym Zone, cotton candy, snowcones, popcorn, kids activities and prizes! This year we are adding a shuttle from Vrab's Your Independent Grocer (at the Four Corners) starting at 4:30pm and running every half hour (Note: Children must be accompanied with an adult) Doors open at 5:00pm.
