Meet at the Living with Lakes Centre
Rainbow Routes, 705.674.4455 x 4603

Every 1st Saturday of the month, we invite the whole RRA family to get together for a hike exploring our beautiful nature trails!

On this Hike Club meeting, we will meet at the Living with Lakes Centre en Ramsey Lake Road at 9:45 to sign forms, and head West on Ramsey Lake and close by trails towards Bell Park and spend a few minutes at the Snow Day festival before taking off towards McCrea Island (the largest Island on that section of Ramsey Lake).

After that, we will split off in two groups - You can choose to head straight back to the starting point, or continue with Albert a little longer before looping back to the starting point through Bethel lake.

Hike Leaders: Albert & Pat

Location: Living with Lakes Centre

Start time: Please arrive at 9:45am to sign forms

Duration: approx 2-2.5hrs (original route) or 2.5-3hrs (extended route)

Difficulty: moderate-advanced, depending on weather conditions

Terrain : mostly flat ice and some trail walking

Caution: Ice may be slippery; shoe cleats (e.g. Yaktraks) are recommended if the ice is clear, otherwise snowshoes are recommended if there will have bee na fresh snowfall. Walking poles can also help improve stability on the lake.

If you require snowshoes for the event, please indicate the quantity and sizes in your RSVP.
