Connect and Reflect with Infant and Toddler Educators - English Session

<< back to calendar

September 25, 2018
10:00 am to 12:00 pm
Conference Room - Larch Street Kids Northeastern Elementary School site, 45 Spruce Street, Garson

Have you ever wondered why children do the things they do like throwing, dumping and pouring? If so then you should join us for a morning of Connecting and Reflecting with like minded Infant/Toddler Educators on Schemas in Children’s Play.

What are these schemas?
It’s really just a way to explain the urges that children have to do things like climbthrow things and hide in small places. They are the building blocks for the brain, repeated behaviour that in turn forge connections in the brain, patterns of unfolding, learning and growth.

Participants will receive resources on the different types of schema's and have an opportunity to reflect together on how they can support schema's in their programs. We will follow a "Communities of Practice" model so come prepared to have powerful conversations with your colleagues.

Free parking will be available on the daycare and EarlyOn side of the school (entrance at the rear - Buzz for daycare)
