Cambrian College is pleased to be offering the second workshop in a series of workshops designed to support RECEs working in administrative positions or those who want to increase their knowledge of HR practices.

Following the HR Lesiglation for Managers workshop, the second workshop will focus on Recruitment and Selection.In this workshop, we will discuss best practices as it relates to the recruitment and selection of employees:

  • Creating job ads & where to post
  • What to ask and what not to ask in an interview
  • How to prepare for an interview
  • Conducting reference checks
  • What to include in offer letters

Each child care agency is invited to submit the name of one employee interested in expanding their knowledge base in HR fundamentals.Again, the facilitator welcomes industry related questions that impact our recruitment and selection process as part of the workshop timeframe to ensure the details support and are relevant to the work of RECEs in administrative positions.

The Recruitment & Selection workshop will be held on Monday, May 27th at Cambrian College from 12 to 4 p.m.The room of the workshop will be provided to participating individuals.

Please look for the details to be posted to the City of Greater Sudbury’s LMS.We ask that interested individuals register in this manner.Once the group has been determined, participating individuals will have the opportunity to forward their facilitator questions or requests related to recruitment & selection.The facilitator has indicated that there will also be time for additional questions as they arise in the workshop.

Please note, the workshops we are offering are part of a workshop series entitled HR Fundamentals for Managers.The workshop series will feature seven distinct topics/modules, delivered in a workshop format.Participants will receive a certificate of participation following the completion of each workshop, and once all seven modules have been completed they will receive the HR Fundamentals for Managers certificate (noting the 7 modules, signed by the Dean, School of JACS, specific to the ECE program, and the Dean ofBusiness, specific to HR practices).
