The Garson Falconbridge Community Action Network is hosting an event at the park! On Saturday May 5, from 9am-1pm(ish), we will be able to come together as a neighborhood to clean up the park and celebrate! 

9am-11am Park and neighborhood cleanup  • Choose to either help out with the park clean up, or you can participate in the neighborhood clean up blitz! • The city will be providing tools, gloves, and other cleanup equipment for us to beautify the park

11:30-1ish Games and neighborhood get-together in the park: bring a picnic and lawn toys if you want, and lets have some fun! You don’t have to be at the cleanup to come join  • There will be games and activities for kids • Opportunity to try out “Disc-Golf” • Chance to meet local Police and Municipal Fire services and check out equipment • Chance to meet your neighbours and get connected with your community

  10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Junction Creek Community Spring Cleanup

It's that time of the year again, come helps us clean up garbage along Junction Creek! The clean-up will take place along the section of the creek behind the Great Canadian Superstore off of Lasalle and will be followed by FREE pizza and refreshments. Waivers and safety announcements will be provided to participants. The Junction Creek Stewardship Committee will provide the required equipment and supplies for the clean-up and the City of Greater Sudbury will be picking-up the garbage at the end. Please dress according to the weather conditions.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is proud to celebrate the start of Police Week by encouraging you to come out and meet members of your local police service, including an address from the Sudbury Police Chief Paul Pedersen. The opening ceremonies will feature a free BBQ, various police demonstrations, information booths, and plenty of family-friendly outdoor activities such as an inflatable obstacle course and face painting.

On Sunday, May 27, 2018, thousands of participants across Canada will unite at local community walk sites during CF awareness month to celebrate their fundraising efforts, while imagining a world without CF. Over 10,000 supporters, including volunteers, donors, partners and participants help support Cystic Fibrosis Canada’s mission; To end cystic fibrosis (CF). The funds raised at the walk are used to target world-class research and supporting and advocating for high-quality individualized CF care.

The Sudbury event will feature children's activities, supported by the Healthy Kids Community Challenge- Activate Your Neighbourhood program.
