Healthy Kids Snow Day 2018

Cold weather didn’t stop kids from having fun at Bell Park. We celebrated another successful Healthy Kids Snow Day with 720 children, 708 adults, 23 volunteers, and 18 partners participating in the family celebration. Activities included
  • Free public transit to and from Bell Park
  • A petting zoo and pony ride
  • Access to a sport court
  • Loans of snowshoes and a guided hike with Laurentian Outdoor Education students and Rainbow Routes
  • Kina Gbezhgomi Child and Family Services story-telling beside a campfire
  • Sliding
  • Snowboarding with the help of Adanac Ski Hill staff
  • A skating rink on Ramsey Lake with pop-up skating instructors providing tips and assistance, as well as loan of skates and helmets
  •  Free-play zones
  • Mini-maze
  • Stories in a warm-up trailer with staff from the Greater Sudbury Public Library
  • Free nutritious snacks and water
  •  A warm-up area for families with babies and young children, equipped with change tables and nursing stations.
